The system will pass through Arizona today, bringing frigid temperatures and drizzle to the canyon floor!







Snow is most likely to fall at an elevation of 6,000 feet, with up to 3 inches of snowfall expected, but isolated light rains are likely in Tucson this time of year, given how cold the system is.

Snowfall will drop to 2,500 feet this morning, but the lack of moisture will bring showers and showers. Higher elevations like Vails and Foothills have a slightly higher chance of snow accumulation and half an inch of dust on cold surfaces like car roofs, roofs and grass surfaces. Meanwhile, canyons in Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham and Greenlee counties are likely to get up to half an inch of snow, impacting morning and afternoon commutes!

The biggest impact of this system is the low temperatures that come with it! Highs will rise to the low 40s this afternoon! A severe cold warning is in effect until 8:00 AM, including Green Valley, Marana, Vail, Pikacho Peak State Park, Mammoth, and Oracle.

We will continue to follow the 4Ps (People, Pets, Plants & Pipes). Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly, and make sure they have ways to stay warm. Pets must be kept indoors! If you have sensitive plants, be sure to cover them with blankets. In areas that fall into the teenage years, including parts of Cochise County, pipes must be covered.
