The drinking wars are coming!
With just a week until the start of the 2024 college football season, one high-profile SEC head coach (LSU's Brian Kelly) is lambasting another (Mississippi's Lane Kiffin). The reason for this war? Coca-Cola! The beverage giant is a sponsor of each program. (Related story: Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin criticizes Coca-Cola, and does so in one of the most awkward press conferences we've ever seen)
Kiffin recently criticized beverage companies during a conversation with the media, and it was pretty hilarious how awkward it was.
“That's 130 percent of your daily sugar intake in one bottle,” Kiffin said.
How long will it be before Coca-Cola withdraws its support for Lane Kiffin's press conferences?

Well, during Wednesday's press conference, Kelly expertly attacked Kiffin in a truly spectacular act of trolling.
“A shout out to our sponsor Coca-Cola – Smartwater is a great product from Coca-Cola,” Kelly said. “It's got the minerals, the vitamins, it's just good for you. It's refreshing, it's healthy, and Coca-Cola gives you all the products you need for whatever you want. I love Smartwater.”
Lane Kiffin's press conference: “Anybody out there drinking Coke? Are you aware that 130% of your daily sugar intake is in that one bottle?”

I'll be honest, the soda wars weren't on my bingo card when the 2024 college football season began, but now they're on and I'm all for it.
