Lucia, Gizmo part of PRCA rodeos in Yuma – Yuma Pioneer

Yuma County Rodeo Manager Cassidy Rogers announced the announcers and rodeo clowns who will perform at the PRCA Rodeo during the fair on August 6 and August 7.
Anthony Lucia returns to Yuma for a second year as announcer. She’s from Weatherford, Texas. Lucia is popular not only as an announcer, but also for her ability to entertain audiences with trick ropes.

Lucia’s abilities don’t stop there. He is also a competitive team roper.
It’s no secret where Lucia gets her talent from. His father, Tommy, a famous rodeo performer who raised and trained his monkey Whiplash, a cowboy he is Lucia, raised Lucia in the rodeo world. Lucia, who has traveled around the country with his father since the age of four, began attending rodeo performances with his father at the age of eight and has continued ever since.
His achievements include a roping performance at the 2010 Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo Specialty Act named “America’s Got Talent” and a trick roper in the 2010-2013 National Finals. He continues to present rodeos across the United States, hosting the show “Live with Lucia” in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo.
And he will be here in Yuma in a few weeks.

Gizmo McCracken
Award-winning Gizmo McCracken makes his debut at the Yuma County Fair & Rodeo as a rodeo clown.
Winner of Comedy Act of the Year 2017, the production has been entertaining audiences across the country for years. He became a member of his PRCA in 1992. Since then, the list of his achievements continues to grow. He has competed in 19 PRCA Circuit Finals Rodeos, 2023 NFR Open, Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days at 10 of 12 circuits, has been nominated 3 times for Coorsman in the Can, and has been crowned Nominated for Comedy Act of the Year and Comedy Act of the Year. He made 11 appearances, was shortlisted for the 2017 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Barrel Man, and was a feature act at the 2005 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
According to his website, Gizmo prides himself on the fact that his humor is good, clean family-style comedy. Gizmo travels across the country from Canada to Texas, East Coast to West Coast, logging thousands of miles per year through dozens of states.
Gizmo started his career as a bullfighter and moved into the world of stand-up comedy at a show in Branson, Missouri. Breaking gadgets and gizmos was part of his daily routine, hence the name “The World’s Greatest Inventor, Gizmo”.
Clowns are changing rapidly today, but Gizmo still retains the core of the rodeo clown it was designed years ago. Gizmo continues the rodeo from start to finish. He has a wide range of acts to suit every need and using multiple acts can provide variety.
“I want people to look for me and wonder what I’ll do next,” he said.
Look for him at the Yuma County Fair PRCA Rodeo on August 6th and 7th.
As for rodeo competitors, entries will open next week and are likely to draw strong cowboys and cowgirls, as in previous years, Rodgers said.
