LYMAN: Joe Scarbrough Is Working To Rehabilitate One Of Americas Most Consequential Antisemites

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough is working overtime to restore the reputation of Al Sharpton, one of America's most influential anti-Semites.

Scarborough posted a photo of Sharpton on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday as part of an MSNBC article titled “Al Sharpton Stands Up for Israel.”

“If you're surprised that the civil rights leader and MSNBC host has broken with the left on Hamas, you haven't been paying attention,” the article reads in part. There is.

Not supporting state-designated terrorist organizations isn't actually “standing up” for Israel, it's standing up for everyone (and that's a pretty low bar). But more on that later.

Sharpton frequently appears on MSNBC's “Morning Joe.” said a few weeks ago Anti-Semitic rallies on university campuses or in public spaces do not fall into a “gray area,” and opposition to such rallies should be the norm. Sharpton spoke about the sanctity of Jewish life and said Hamas should not be called “extremists” but rather murderers and terrorists.

Sharpton too Said On “Morning Joe,” he argued that people should march in support of Jews.

“If they say kill black people, we will march. This is not difficult.”

Scarborough seemed very proud that his frequent Morning Joe guests didn't hate Jews just because they were Jewish, posting to X:

“@TheRevAl represents Israel.”

I think Sharpton was just sitting around looking for his next photo opportunity in the early '90s, when he helped incite race riots in Brooklyn as part of his long career as a shakedown artist. (Related: Kamala Harris praises Al Sharpton: 'The conscience of our country')

Sharpton, along with Sonny Carson, another so-called “civil rights activist” who conveniently didn't care about Jewish civil rights. led the march Via Crown Heights, Brooklyn in 1991 during the infamous Crown Heights Riots. Marchers held anti-Semitic placards and burned Israeli flags. Some rioters fired at police, while others threw bricks and bottles. The violence escalated, with 152 police officers and 38 civilians injured, property damaged, and robberies committed.

The riots began on August 19, 1991, when he was 22 years old. Joseph Lifsch crashed The vehicle collided with a building pillar, which then fell, crushing two children and killing one. Rifsch was part of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schnierson's motorcade, but he fell behind the line as it passed through the intersection. Lifsch believed he had the right to go through the red light because the procession was being escorted by a police vehicle, so he proceeded.

Lifsch hit another car, then veered onto the sidewalk and crashed into a pillar. Gavin Kato, 7, was crushed to death by the pillar, and his cousin Angela Kato, 7, was seriously injured but survived.

Emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes and said Lifsch had been severely assaulted and dragged from the car by a group of men. Volunteer Hatzolah Ambulance also arrived at the scene and assisted Angela Kato until she was taken to hospital.

new york times report A group of mostly black teenagers began shouting “Jews!” Jews! Jews! ”

Riots began late that night, and by the next morning a group of black men surrounded Mr. Rosenbaum, a 29-year-old Yankee, stabbed him multiple times in the back and beat him. Rosenbaum was able to identify one of the assailants in line, but he later died after doctors failed to notice a stab wound to his chest.

Jews were attacked, stores looted, and homes damaged.

But Sharpton's march did more than fan the flames of anti-Semitism.inside memorial Mr Sharpton told Mr Cato it was an accident to allow an apartheid ambulance service in the middle of Crown Heights, referring to “diamond merchants”. Sharpton also accused former Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani of engaging in “racial bullying” after he called the riots a “pogrom” against Jews.

As for Mr. Sharpton's brave anti-Hamas axis, having basic human decency and not supporting terrorists is not an accomplishment. Mr. Sharpton may be standing up on behalf of Israel against Hamas, but his deep involvement in anti-Semitic racial violence should not be forgotten. Those who pay attention will remember the murder of innocent Jews at the hands of the mob instigated by Sharpton.
