‘Made in Alabama’ hat is now available for sale nationwide

Alabama Family’s Pride Sparks National Buzz

A proud moment for an Alabama family has unexpectedly resonated across the state and even nationally.

Recently, Lauren Roland from Alabama’s Department of Commerce appeared on “The Today Show” in New York City with her family, sporting a “made in Alabama” ball cap. In a spontaneous moment during the live broadcast, anchor Craig Melvin complimented the hat and playfully tried it on himself.

This light-hearted interaction has led to an enthusiastic response. Following the segment, the Alabama Department of Commerce was inundated with inquiries from viewers eager to know, “Where can I get that hat?”

Well, good news—now you can!

In light of the strong interest, the Commerce Department teamed up with Logobrander, a company based in Montgomery, to sell “Alabama-made” hats online. Priced at $22, these hats allow fans and supporters of Alabama’s reputation for quality products to show their pride.

“Alabama is creating what the world needs,” remarked Ellen McNair, secretary at the Alabama Department of Commerce. “Thanks to Lauren and a boost from ‘The Today Show,’ the world now knows this includes a pretty large hat as well.”

The “Made in Alabama” initiative began back in 2013 as part of a bold rebranding effort aimed at showcasing Alabama’s manufacturing strengths, skilled workforce, and expanding economy. Over the years, the logo has evolved into a symbol of pride and conversation.

Whether you’re an industry partner from Alabama or simply someone who takes pride in the state, a “made in Alabama” hat is an excellent way to represent a place that’s building a bright future—be it through rockets, cars, airplanes, or hats. With “Alabama” beautifully embroidered on it, this hat captures the essence of the state and its craftsmanship.

Note: Neither the Alabama Department of Commerce nor Logobrander is making a profit from the hat sales.
