Maine Governor Janet Mills issued an official statement justifying her state’s permission for transgender (biological male) athletes during Women’s Sports on Wednesday, when the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Pine Tree State over the issue.

“I fought tirelessly for the rights of women and girls, for the health and well-being of children and families,” read Mills’ statement line. (Related: California still appears to allow men to steal glory from women and girls in female sports)

Maine Republican leader Laurel Libby sent a statement to Fox News Digital And then he blows up Mills for her nonsense, and she puts Mills sentence inside of it.

“Let me be clear, Gov. Janet Mills’s claim that she has always stood up for the rights of women and girls in Maine is completely wrong. The Justice Department lawsuit against Maine that refuses to comply with Title IX is evidence if it does not exist.

“This isn’t about state rights, as she argues. It’s about Governor Mills and Maine Democrats pushing forward a far left ideology that ignores biological reality. By ignoring Title IX, they identify and put an end to the girls and their families and their families.
