Multinational automaker Kia Motors has been removed from the donor page of a program that distributes LGBTQ-themed books to children following a Daily Caller News Foundation report about the company’s relationship with the nonprofit. .
DCNF said Wednesday that Kia displayed prominently As a co-sponsor of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (Gulsen) Rainbow Library — A non-profit that provides participating teachers with children’s books that promote transgenderism and homosexuality for children as young as 5 years old. Since then, Kia deleted From the Rainbow Library sponsor page. Kia Motors did not respond to DCNF’s request for comment on the removal, and it is unclear whether the company requested it be removed from the webpage. A Kia spokesperson denied in a statement Tuesday that the automaker was sponsoring Rainbow Library in 2023 or 2024, but did not comment on why it was listed as a sponsor on GLSEN’s website. He did not respond to further inquiries.
The automaker has been listed as a national sponsor of Rainbow Library for the 2022-2023 school year, along with General Motors and TJ Maxx. According to Go to the March 2023 archives on the website.
Kia Motors publishes “Proud Owners” press release In August, it focused on stories of “dynamic LGBTQ+ individuals” who drive cars made by the automaker. GLSEN did not respond to a request for comment regarding Kia’s involvement with the nonprofit organization.
