The Mojave County Sheriff’s Deputy last week received a report of a man who was called to an area on Highway 91 and accused of pointing a firearm at a passing vehicle.
Witnesses reported seeing a 35-year-old man, later identified as Bryce W. Treft of Littlefield, walking down a highway with a weapon on Friday afternoon. I scoured the area looking for Treft at the campground in the Littlefield area.
Investigators said Treft was heard screaming incoherently when deputies arrived. Deputies said he spoke to Treft through the PA system, and he eventually convinced Treft to take him into custody.
Agents took Treft into custody and searched the campground. Investigators said an airsoft pellet gun that resembled a real revolver was found at the scene. Agents also allegedly found a plastic bag containing 15 grams of methamphetamine in Treft’s belongings.
Treft was charged with felonies of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct with a weapon, and possession of a dangerous drug. As of Thursday, Treft remained in custody at the Mojave County Jail on $2,500 bail.
