Man accused of providing harmful media to underage girl and fleeing the country is now in custody

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma Police Department (YPD) has announced that a man has been arrested on suspicion of providing harmful media to an underage girl, and both eventually fled to Mexico.

YPD said the harmful media complaint was filed on April 21.

During the investigation, Yuma police said they believed the underage girl had left her home and been with a man.

A man and a minor girl were found to have fled the country to Mexico, the YPD said.

A warrant was then issued for the man’s arrest.

The YPD and U.S. Marshals Department Yuma District located a man in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico, who was arrested on Thursday, May 25.

A minor girl was also found and both were deported from Mexico.

The YPD announced that the minor girl was safely returned to her family.

A 31-year-old man was incarcerated at the Yuma County Jail on multiple felony charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor.

He is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
