Man arrested after Maricopa home burglarized

On April 1, a man police suspected of breaking into Maricopa’s home and then resisting arrest was arrested.

Around 9:45 pm, Tenasia Dixon reported that a man believed to be Stephen Kanowski, 52, broke into her West Cahill Drive home without permission.

Dixon said her mother once dated Kanowski, but never lived in the mansion.

According to the probable cause statement, Kanowski used a code to unlock the front door and took a mini-fridge and other belongings out of the master bedroom.

Dixon attempted to lock the door again, but Kanowski allegedly pushed her through the doorway and back inside.

As the reporter explained, Kanowski drove in a blue and white RV.

About an hour later, MPD found Kanowski’s RV in the Bachas’ parking lot. Kanowski refused to get out of the vehicle and continued to disobey his orders, police said.

At 11:02 p.m., Kanowski was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and second-degree robbery.

He was booked into the Pinal County Jail.
