PHOENIX — A man in Peoria turned himself in on Monday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident at Apache Junction over the weekend and was arrested, officials said.
Robert Moyer II, 45, turned himself in at 8 a.m. at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Phoenix. Arizona Department of Public Safety Said.
Moyer was arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of the fatal accident. His bond is set at $150,000.
DPS said the collision occurred around 7:40 a.m. Sunday at the Meridian Road exit ramp to US 60 East. Police believe the victim, a 16-year-old girl from Mesa, was walking down a highway when she was struck by a pickup truck. The truck left the scene.
Authorities said the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run was a single-cab, dual-flatbed, white pickup truck with black rails, with damage to the passenger side and possible broken headlights.
