Man Arrested In Connection With An Officer-Involved Shooting In Doney Park Last Summer Accepts A Plea Deal – KAFF News – Flagstaff

A man charged with seven crimes in connection with a July 2023 break-and-enter and officer-involved shooting at Donny Park agreed to a plea deal Tuesday. Earlier in the day, deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress at 3:10 a.m. on Hidden Hills Road. The person who called 911 said an unknown person entered his home and held him at gunpoint. Subject then jumped out of a window and fled the scene. When police arrived, they found the victim safe and began searching for the suspect. At 3:24 a.m., the suspect was found just west of the crime scene. As a CCSO sergeant tried to take 32-year-old Eric Adamson into custody, Adamson attacked him and was able to choke the sergeant. Fearing for his life, the sergeant became aggressive, grabbed the gun and fired at the suspect who was riding on the sergeant's back. Adamson was shot once and immediately taken into custody. He was formally arrested after being treated for his injuries. Adamson pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault. He is scheduled to serve three to four years in prison, with four years suspended, and he will serve the sentence consecutively. Adamson will be formally sentenced on March 22nd.
