Casa Grande, Arizona — A man has been shot dead. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Deputy near Casa Grande on a Thursday night.
The shooting near the intersection of Mescalero and Hualapai streets occurred during an investigation of a stolen dirt bike.
Officers were interviewing a man identified as 36-year-old Michael Obregón when Obregón allegedly pulled out a gun.
Obregon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office did not release the identity of the sheriff who shot Obregón, but said the sheriff was not injured.
An investigation into Obregón revealed that he had a felony warrant for parole violations and that the dirt bike he was riding was stolen.
