Man dies after crashing into Yuma field

A single-vehicle accident occurred Friday near Avenue E and Klip Street.

YUMA, Ariz. — A man was killed Friday when his car crashed and overturned in a field in Yuma County, authorities said.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle crash happened at S. Avenue E and W. Cripp Street around 5:50 p.m.

“The initial investigation revealed that a 1984 Jeep Scrambler was traveling eastbound on Cripp Street from Avenue E when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway and overturned into a field.” stated in a news release.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Douglas Lee, 78, of Yuma.

The incident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
