Man Dies In SoFi Stadium’s Lake, The Second Drowning In Two Years

A young man drowned outside SoFi Stadium in California late Friday night, FOX 11 reported.

A 19-year-old man was spotted by stadium security personnel jumping into an adjacent lake around 9:30 p.m. according to To Fox 11. Witnesses reported seeing him swimming before disappearing beneath the surface and failing to reappear. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department immediately began a search and rescue operation, the newspaper said.

Search and rescue teams found the young man's body in the depths of the lake at 11 p.m., the paper said.

SoFi Stadium expressed its condolences to the family. “We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of an individual last night,” SoFi Stadium said in a statement. report. “We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased. This incident was the second drowning incident at SoFi Stadium Lake in two years. The first accident occurred in July 2022, according to Deadline. The lake, known for its vast lakes and beautiful waterfalls, has given rise to the need for stronger safety measures to prevent future accidents.
