Maricopa, Arizona (Az Family) – The suspect was injured after a shooting involving an officer in Maricopa on Wednesday morning.

Just before 8am, Maricopa police officers responded to an unknown call. Portis Drivenear Bowlin, White Road and Parker Road. Although few details have been released, officers were involved in the shooting shortly after their arrival.

A city spokesperson says the man was rushed to the hospital, but his current status is unknown. The officers were not injured.

The Pinal Regional Special Investigations unit investigates shootings led by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

This is the third officer-involved shooting outside Maricopa County, the fifth to date this year.
