The New York City Police Department (NYPD) announced that a 45-year-old man riding the subway died early Friday morning, according to multiple reports.

The victim was found unconscious by police and then taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Associated Press reported.

“D trains are being detoured from 182nd to 183rd Streets in both directions while the NYPD conducts an investigation at the station. Please take the nearby Bx1 or Bx2 bus instead. Nearby Tremont Av Station. or take the Bx1 or Bx2 bus to/from Fordham Rd station,” said a NYCT subway warning posted at 6 a.m. local time.
