Man Who Shared Cell with Epstein Claims He Could Not Have Taken His Own Life

Former Prisoner Questions Epstein’s Death

Michael Franze, a former inmate who shared a prison with Jeffrey Epstein, suggested on Monday’s News Nation that Epstein might have committed suicide. However, he has his doubts about that theory.

Epstein died in 2019, and official autopsy results indicated that he was found hanging in his cell. Yet, Franze has expressed skepticism regarding these findings, claiming it would have been nearly impossible for Epstein to hang himself in that specific environment.

“I spent seven months on that block,” he remarked during an interview on “Banfield.” “Honestly, there’s no way to commit suicide there; there’s nothing to hang from.”

Franze also raised concerns about the peculiar circumstances around Epstein’s death. He pointed out issues such as malfunctioning cameras and the absence of guards on duty during that critical time.

“In my eight years in prison, I’ve never seen a camera malfunction,” he stated, emphasizing that the level of surveillance in those cells was typically intense. “It’s not like guards just skip walking by—it’s constant monitoring.”

He went on to explain how inmates are often closely observed even during private moments, which adds to the overall discomfort of being monitored. “The truth is, they’re always watching you, making something like using the bathroom feel pretty embarrassing,” he said. “I can’t say for sure what happened, but I really doubt it was a suicide—it’s just not physically feasible.”

When the topic switched to the prison video, Franze expressed wariness about the apparent lack of footage, saying that it added an element of suspicion given his familiarity with the prison layout.

“It’s odd that so much related to Epstein is missing,” he added, hinting that he would share more information soon. He referenced Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz, who claimed to have seen Epstein’s client list but was unable to disclose it due to confidentiality rules, even though he accused officials of hiding crucial documents that could shield some individuals.

Earlier in July, the DOJ and FBI indicated that they couldn’t find any evidence supporting the existence of a “client list” tied to Epstein or suggesting foul play in his death. A memo from Axios reported that their investigation found no signs of coercion or external threat that led to his passing.

Despite previous reports claiming that CCTV footage had been lost, the DOJ recently released over 10 hours of video from outside Epstein’s prison. This footage appears to align with the suicide narrative, noting that no one entered his housing unit from the time he was last seen on August 9, 2019, until the following morning.
