Manufacture Alabama announces updates to board leadership


Manufacturer Alabama is pleased to announce several updates to its Board of Directors, including the election of two new members: Donna Jackson (International Paper) and Craig Savage (Airbus). “The board also approved the appointment of Karen Johnston (Toyota North America) as vice chairman,” the organization said.

Karen Johnston – Toyota North America Regional Director of Government Affairs

Mr. Cullen is responsible for monitoring and influencing state legislative policy issues that affect Toyota and its operations in the Midwest and Southeast. Throughout her 22-year career with Toyota, she has held various roles in government affairs, corporate communications, and human resources.

“I am honored to serve as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of a great organization that cares about its members, increases manufacturing opportunities in Alabama, and makes Alabama a place where manufacturing thrives,” said Karen Johnston. Donna Jackson – Regional Communications Manager, Platteville International Papers

Donna has been a key member of the Prattville Plant Lead Team since 2015, providing strategic communications leadership and overseeing community relations strategy. Donna is an active member of her local community, serving on various committees and in 2023 became the Chair of the Alabama Manufacturing Communications Commission.

“Since 2015, I have enjoyed participating in Manufacture Alabama member activities as part of my role at IP,” said Donna Jackson. “I am honored to be asked to join the board and look forward to continuing to support the great work this organization is leading on behalf of the state’s manufacturers.”

Craig Savage – Airbus National and Regional Director

In his role at Airbus, Mr. Craig focuses on business strategy, government relations, community engagement and economic development for the Southeastern United States. Over his 25-year career, Craig has worked for companies in the defense, energy, and entertainment sectors. He also serves as a reserve public affairs officer for Air Force Special Operations Command.

“Manufacturing Alabama has been an important resource for me and the companies I have represented in the aerospace and defense space,” said Craig Savage. “I look forward to joining the exceptional leadership team that has built Manufacture Alabama into one of the state’s premier advocacy organizations.”
