Shooting Incident at Country Club in New Hampshire
A distressing shooting took place on Saturday at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire during a wedding. Allegedly, 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau was responsible for the tragedy, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to two others. Witnesses reported that a person named Tom Bartelson was heard saying things like “Children are safe” and “Free Palestine” amid the chaos.
Sadly, 59-year-old Robert Stephen Decesare lost his life during the incident. His mother, Evie O’Rourke, shared that he heroically protected his family, ultimately sacrificing himself for his wife and daughter. “He turned around and stood up and took a bullet for his family, and I’m very proud of him,” O’Rourke stated in an interview. “They saw the guy come in and shoot a few other shots with the manager, then Rob stood up and turned to the guy who was right there.”
O’Rourke described her son as a great husband and hardworking individual, expressing sorrow that he could no longer be there for them. “He’s the guy we went to and we can’t do that anymore,” she added.
Decesare’s wife spoke about her husband’s love for his family and community, noting that he enjoyed golfing, poker, and pickleball. “Our life has forever changed to a pointless moment, except for the belief that Rob was trying to protect me and my daughter. Perhaps others are there too. In our minds, he is a hero,” she remarked.
New Hampshire Attorney General applauded the bravery of other patrons, highlighting their selfless acts to intervene and protect their own safety while attempting to stop the shooter. Wedding DJ Michael Homewood mentioned that one man had intervened and likely prevented further casualties. “He slapped him on the head with a chair, and he probably saved a lot of lives just by doing that,” Homewood commented.
