“Many People Find These Ideas Crazy”: Democrat Julian Epstein Claims His Party Worships ‘Pagan Idols’

Commentator Critiques Democrats’ Voter Engagement

On Wednesday, commentator Julian Epstein expressed his concern on Fox Business about the Democratic Party’s strategy, suggesting it risks political self-destruction by alienating voters.

Following disappointing approval ratings since the 2024 election loss, Democrats are attempting a rebranding. In his appearance on “The Evening Edit,” Epstein attributed the party’s troubles to an obsession with cultural and ideological battles promoted by academic elites and activist groups.

“The Democrats are really struggling. Whether it’s fundraising, party registration, or public perception on major issues like the economy and social topics, they seem to be in a hole,” he remarked.

Epstein argued that party leaders tend to prioritize ideological initiatives over everyday concerns, which has led to a sense of abandonment among average Americans.

“They’re still worshipping at the altars of controversial ideas,” Epstein continued. “They talk about erasing gender and borders, ignoring crimes, and undermining law enforcement. To most people, these ideas don’t resonate.”

He further cautioned that the influence of activist scholars within the party is diminishing, predicting that a narrative portraying Americans as “oppressed victims” would only contribute to a “toxic” brand for Democrats.

“It’s more about indoctrinating a sense of victimhood than addressing real issues. This approach may benefit some careers, but it’s harmful to the party as a whole,” he added.

Since the 2020 election, Democrats have lost approximately 2.1 million registered voters across 30 states and Washington, DC, while Republicans gained around 2.4 million. According to reports from various sources, this trend serves as a crucial wake-up call for Democratic leaders.
