Many Voters Seek Responsibility for Russiagate, Recent Rasmussen Poll Reveals

Poll Reveals Call for Accountability Over Russiagate

A recent Rasmussen poll indicates that more than two-thirds of U.S. voters believe that officials involved in the Russiagate saga should be held accountable.

The survey, conducted from July 29 to 31 with 1,172 participants, shows that 65% of voters are aware of the recent developments regarding the national security investigation linked to the Obama administration.

Notably, attention has focused on a 2020 congressional report, which figures like former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe and current DNI Tulsi Gabbard have characterized as evidence of an ongoing coup. Allegations from Kash Patel, connected to the FBI’s “Durham Annex,” suggest that critical findings are concealed at FBI headquarters, alongside claims of politically charged intelligence manipulation.

When inquired about the allegations that former President Barack Obama’s national security team “manipulated and manufactured intel to support false narratives about Russia and Donald Trump,” 54% of respondents believed these officials committed serious crimes.

The poll revealed that 69% of respondents view these individuals as crucial for the country’s future and believe they should be held responsible.

This poll coincided with the Department of Justice launching a significant investigation into Obama-era officials suspected of promoting false information.

In response to the unfolding situation, Trump tweeted, “The truth always wins. This is great news. God’s blessing America!”

Kash Patel mentioned that the FBI might release further documents following media allegations against him. He expressed hope for transparency, stating, “Maybe this FBI will release more documents directly from the FBI HQ… so we can see who is lying.”

Patel has claimed, “In 2017/18, I proved that Steele’s documents were fictitious, manipulated by corrupt FBI officials, deceiving federal judges and illegally spying on Trump’s campaign. The media called me a liar. Right now I’m the FBI…”

The push for accountability seems to transcend party lines. According to the poll, 56% of Democrats and 75% of Republicans followed the survey closely. Among Republicans, 83% believe Obama-era officials committed serious offenses, while nearly a third of Democrats (32%) share the same view.

For those supporting accountability, the numbers rise to 59% of Democrats and 86% of Republicans.

Rasmussen reports the poll has a margin of error of ±3% points, with a reliability of 95%.
