This is completely unrealistic.
The game between Camden and Manasquan at New Jersey's Central Regional High School may go down as the best high school basketball game of the year, not just in the Garden State, but in America.
And the most chaotic ending you've ever seen.
Oh, and it was the NJSIAA Group II championship game. (Related: The winning buzzer beater in the high school basketball championship game is pure magic)
Initially, Manasquan hit a buzzer-beating layup in the final minute to give Camden a 47-46 victory…but… it didn't count, even though the shot missed before the clock hit zero. Ta.
After Manasquan College junior Griffin Linstra took the shot, three referees gathered at the scorer's table and ruled that Griffin's shot was not made in time, but the footage tells a very different story. . FYI, the NJSIAA does not have replay reviews.
Plain and simple, Manasquan was completely robbed (they lost, 46-45) and in a very brutal way.
clock:
Griffin Linstra hit the putback, sparking a big celebration, but officials discussed it and decided it didn't count. I thought maybe they were turning back the clock. It looked and sounded good from my seat. Final: Camden 46, Manasquan 45. pic.twitter.com/GfMAUu5eP7

Tonight's NJSIAA Group 2 semifinal game against Camden, which was supposed to be a win for Manasquan, was forfeited after officials swarmed.
There are no replay reviews. Just a cruel way to lose. https://t.co/petqhMOvzB— Jerry Carino (@NJHoopsHaven) March 6, 2024
This wasn't even close. Manaskan was robbed! pic.twitter.com/RUogV8jw8K
