Maria Guadalupe Garcia, “Lupe”, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona.
Maria was born on January 7, 1946 in Morenci, Arizona to parents Maria Gonzalez and Juan Chacón. Including her brother. Cornelio Chacon, John Chacon, Robert Chacon, Pat Chacon, Tony Chacon, Margie Chacon, Carol Gonzalez.
Lupe attended school in Clifton. She grew up in Clifton, Arizona. She worked as a hospitality receptionist. Lupe graduated from her college in Eastern Arizona. She had a very strong faith in God.
Lupe was blessed with three children. Perry, Judy, Charles. She was a devoted mother to her three children and she always put her children’s needs first. Being her grandmother was the joy of her life. She moved and lived in Safford, Arizona. She loved living her independent life and made many friends. She spoke highly of everyone she knew.
Her hobbies included reading, board games, taking care of birds, and gardening. She enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren and spending as much time as possible with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She survives with: her children, Perry, Judy and Charles. Her grandchildren Perry Jr., Jessie, Alex, Judy, Catalina, Kalia, Aaron, Coy, Jacelyn and Adrian. Her great-grandchildren, Micah, Adaline and Elijah. her sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and friends.
Her parents, Maria and Juan Chacón, died before her. and her brother, Pat Chacon. and her nephew Robert Chacon Jr.
A celebration of Lupe’s birthday will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vining Funeral Home. Her celebration will be followed by a procession to Safford Cemetery and a visit to her grave, and a luncheon will be held at her 1314 W. 19th Street in Safford, Arizona.
