Maricopa could be getting its own version of Fat Cats

The “Mecca of Family Entertainment” is heading to Maricopa.

Former Maricopa resident Scott Bartle wants to build an indoor and outdoor family entertainment center near Copper Sky Regional Park, according to public records released to Maricopa. Inmaricopa Tuesday.

A project description submitted to the city’s Planning Department last week includes miniature golf, duckpin bowling, an arcade, ropes course and a cafe in the first phase. Bumper boats and go-karts in Phase 2.

Currently, Maricopa’s family entertainment environment is barren. Families typically have to commute to Tempe, Chandler, or Mesa for similar entertainment.

Bartle said he hopes to fix this in the coming months.

“Maricopa needs this,” Bartle said. Inmaricopa this morning. “We need safe, fun activities for kids and families in the city. We need entertainment that doesn’t require a second round trip. [State Route] 347”

The only other similar development planned is the proposed Elevate Trampoline Park at the southwest corner of Alterra and John Wayne Parkways. However, the project has not moved forward since it was announced in July.

As the development of the business is still in its early stages, construction and opening schedules are not yet available.

Nevertheless, Bartle said there’s one thing he’s looking forward to about the development.

“Smiles, lots of smiles,” he said. “The Maricopa Family Entertainment Center will be the place people go to make their bad days good, their good days great and their great days great.”
