The Saddleback Farms resident reportedly drove a gray Toyota Tacoma eastbound near High Lonesome Drive with California plates on the trailer, while officers drove from Phoenix. He said he immediately realized it had been stolen.

Authorities immediately ordered Ray to exit the pickup truck and took him into custody on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

He could face more than 16 1/2 years in prison on the new charges.
