Maricopa Police Arrest Man with Active Warrant
This week, a man from Buckeye was taken into custody by Maricopa police due to an active West Valley arrest warrant. The arrest occurred after he allegedly provided police with false identities during a jaywalking stop.
Patrick Lee Keenan, 47, was first spotted early Wednesday morning at around 7 AM near the intersection of Plainview Street and Honeycutt Road. According to the police, Keenan crossed the street despite a flashing “no walk” signal. When an officer requested his name and date of birth, Keenan refused to comply, even after being reminded of his legal obligation to identify himself.
Once a supervisor arrived, Keenan allegedly provided an incorrect name and birthdate. This information didn’t match, leading the officers to issue a citation under the false identity before releasing him. However, this citation was later canceled when dispatch confirmed there was an outstanding arrest warrant for him from Buckeye.
Later that same morning, officers located Keenan walking along the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway, close to the Maricopa Groves Parkway. He was arrested around 9 AM on charges of providing false information to law enforcement, failing to identify himself, and jaywalking. During the arrest, officers found his Social Security card and birth certificate, which revealed his actual identity.
Keenan was then booked at an adult detention facility in Florence, Pinal County.
Court records indicate that he has ongoing charges in Buckeye City Court stemming from a case filed in 2022. When the charges were initially filed in November of that year, Keenan was already evading justice. He posted a $500 bond but failed to show up for court, resulting in a bench warrant being issued.
It took until Halloween 2024 for authorities to finally apprehend Keenan, who was taken to prison but soon released on that same $500 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for December 4. He once again skipped this meeting, leading to another bench warrant and a suspension of his driving privileges.
Despite these ongoing legal troubles, Keenan managed to live relatively freely throughout 2025 until his recent encounter with police in Maricopa for jaywalking.
