Maricopa Soccer Fall Short To Boulder Creek

The Maricopa Rams Varsity Boys Soccer Team lost to the Boulder Creek Jaguars 4-2 on Tuesday night.

maricopa struggle

It was Maricopa's second loss of the season, but it has improved significantly from last season, when it finished with a record of 2-11-3.

The Rams (5-2-1) were on a five-game winning streak, but have now lost back-to-back games with a 9-3 record.

There's no question Maricopa is much better than it was a year ago, but a loss like this doesn't mean they're heading in the right direction.

The Rams' next opponent will be the 4-2-3 Camelback Spartans, who have outscored their opponents by 10 goals this season. A win here would get Maricopa back on track and give them the momentum they need for the rest of the season.

Jaguars continue to rotate

Boulder Creek has also grown significantly since last season. The team finished with just 2 wins, 12 losses, and 1 draw despite losing by more than 40 goals.

The Jaguars (5-3) turned it around and proved they should be taken seriously in 6A.

Their next opponent is the Basha Bears, who have had a tough time this season with a record of 2 wins and 8 losses. This is a chance for Boulder His Creek to extend their winning streak and continue to improve as the playoffs approach.
