(First inMaricopa) The 18-year-old Maricopa man was charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Casa Grande on Saturday.

Police called the SWAT team this afternoon to arrest Damien Logan in Maricopa. He faces charges of worsening attacks, drive-by shooting and discharge of structure firearms.

The incident began just before midnight on Saturday at McDonald’s near North Pinal Avenue and McCartney Road, according to the Casa Grande Police Department. Disagreements continued, continuing about 1.5 miles north to the Villago parcel, Logan allegedly fired multiple shots at the occupied vehicle. No one was injured, police said.

Authorities are still investigating the types of firearms used, the number of shots fired, and what led to the shooting.

Logan was listed as a quarterback for both Maricopa High School and Casa Grande Union High School football programs. He was a senior during the 2023-24 football season, according to MaxPreps, a website that tracks high school sports. However, he was not listed as an MHS alumni in 2024 and did not attend the CGUHS graduation ceremony last May.

Today, investigators tracked Logan down to a home around Maricopa’s desert cedar, according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. Due to the nature of the incident, the response involves a Pinal County Regional SWAT team supporting local agencies in high-risk cases, the Sheriff’s Department said.

“Whenever an individual suspect is involved in a firearm, it will activate SWAT,” said Thomas Anderson, spokesman for Casa Grande.

Police arrived at a home near Graythorne Drive and Yukkaraine around 2:45pm today. There were two SWAT vehicles and some unmarked cars. A Maricopa Police spokesman said their agents were notified but did not support them. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.

Logan was safely taken into custody and booked at the Pinal County Adult Detention Center in Florence.

If convicted, he faces the largest sentence in prison for 46 years.
