For most of his life, Mark Zuckerberg was a nerdy, grumpy, nebulous personality. A typical computer geek, I spent most of my days and nights behind a glowing screen.
But Zuckerberg has changed considerably in recent years, embracing physical violence, or mixed martial arts (MMA).While the Facebook founder seemingly embraces libertarian ideas, at the same time; cooler. (He may have always been somewhat of a liberal ideologically, but he’s just done so more openly.) He wears chains and necklaces and grows his hair long, so he’s no longer a cyborg. I don’t look like a fool. He maintains an intensive training program in jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts, and even suffered a bad injury during a sparring session.

Zuckerberg has also become increasingly hostile to government regulations and policies, according to a New York Times report published in September. In August 2024, he expressed regret that the Biden-Harris administration had allowed Facebook to pressure Facebook to censor content during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s as if he’s returning to his roots as an ambitious and idealistic Harvard student who truly wanted to create a space of free speech and a place to connect with people around the world.
He also had a great reaction to the first assassination attempt on President-elect Donald Trump in July, calling the then-presidential candidate’s iconic fist pump “terrible.”

Zuckerberg told the New York Times: “Seeing Donald Trump get shot in the face and stand up and raise an American flag and raise his fist in the air is one of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen in my life.” ” he said. “As an American, in some ways it’s hard not to get emotional about that spirit and that fight. I think that’s why so many people like this guy.”
This week alone, Mr. Zuckerberg welcomed UFC founder Dana White, a hardcore conservative, free speech advocate and Trump supporter, to Meta’s board of directors and announced Facebook’s fact-checking and censorship policies. announced major changes. “Governments and traditional media are increasingly pushing for censorship,” and “much of it is clearly political,” Zuckerberg said. “Fact checkers are far too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they have built, especially in the United States.”
Zuckerberg said Trump’s election victory “feels like a cultural tipping point to re-prioritize free speech.” Meta then promised to “retire the fact checker and replace it with community notes similar to X.”
The CEO also announced that the company is moving its content moderation team from Silicon Valley to Texas. While this change could prove to be very beneficial for the platform, it is likely harmful to local Texans. backyard. in some City There, it may already be too late. But perhaps Mr. Zuckerberg will just bring in the jobs and economic benefits that typically come with such a major move from such a giant company.
Whether or not the new policy is a blow to other Big Tech companies, corporations, and censorship fanatics nestled in the federal government, one thing is for sure: Zuckerberg has become a better person since embracing physical violence. It means that it has become. Having fled the liberal plantation, he no longer needs or wants to pander to liberal elites or parrot their social justice talking points.
