Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn is entering the governor’s race, signaling her long-term dedication to the role.

“It’s official! I’m running for governor to make sure that the leadership in Tennessee remains conservative for this generation and the next,” Blackburn announced on Wednesday morning.

Her decision isn’t exactly a shock; as Governor Bill Lee nears the end of his second term, Blackburn has been leaning toward this move for over a year now.

In previous terms, she has served alongside various former state legislators and state senators from Williamson County.

Earlier this year, Rose initiated his campaign at the Wilson County Fairgrounds, a gathering that brought together Tennessee farmers.
