Massive Porbeagle Shark Caught On Camera Attacking Fisherman’s Pollock Catch Off Massachusetts

If I had heard this, I would have been terrified of eternal hell, but what a cool camera it was.

Coastal New England is quiet in January. This is because of the “snowbirds” that come here to Florida and actually bother those of us who live here, but I digress.

But despite the empty beaches and lack of saltwater fishing opportunities, anglers still have the option of heading to the southern Gulf of Maine for some quality walleye fishing.

Well, a couple of guys who were doing this last week, Captain Cam Faria and Johnny Rego (kayak and shore fishing guides with RI Kayak Fishing Adventures), were fishing for walleye and happened to be recording (GoPro) at the same time. I was there. It might have been a little scary as it hit the side of the boat, but they managed to capture a huge shark on camera. Well, you may have gotten the walleye, but the content gold is fair trade.

This video is quite a gem in my opinion.

Not only did they catch a black shark on camera, but it was huge. And then there's the fact that it attacked their giant walleyes. That in itself makes it a gem.

But you feel even better knowing that many sharks are coming down here to Florida and the southern United States (and below) to escape the cold. Just like the snowbirds that trouble you. We were lucky there were sharks left to do this. (Related: 'Endangered': Rare whitetip shark caught on video in Cayman Islands)

I'm proud of this, everyone. This is a rare individual that is rarely seen.
