Code of Ethics for Supreme Court Judges
Please let me make a suggestion. Roberts is kicking the can of code of ethics, so that judges in courts who feel the need for some code of ethics band together to voluntarily adhere to the code to follow and to avoid other “problematic” trials. Officers (Thomas, Alito, Roberts, Gorsuch) alone.
Is Joe Biden the Mole of China?
Democrats and their news media allies claimed Trump was a Russian spy. There was no evidence to support it. Russia invaded Ukraine under the Biden administration. The same argument can be made about Joe Biden. Is he a Chinese mole?
The FBI has determined that COVID likely originated in a Wuhan lab. The virus has killed over a million Americans and sickened millions more. China lied and covered up information about COVID. They obstructed the WHO investigation.

Still, Biden has taken no punitive action against them. Nor has he taken revenge on China for setting up spy balloons or Chinese police stations in China to intimidate Chinese Americans. Biden has taken no tough measures against China, the supplier of fentanyl that killed thousands of Americans. damage to the manufacturer. And what exactly is his policy towards Taiwan?
Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress found that the Biden family indirectly received more than $1 million from a Chinese company.
Tucson Municipal Power Company
Re: April 30 article “Tucson Considers Establishing Municipal Power Company; TEP Opposes”
Does this proposal surprise you? no! There are always environmentalists who want to control others on their own terms. Claims that eliminating shareholders reduces the cost of electricity service for consumers are questionable compared to other means of generating electricity.
The problem is actual cost, maintenance and replacement without subsidy. If the city wanted to test this theory, they would set up a generator function to power city hall and report back on the results over the years. This option could be tested on a small scale to determine if there are means to provide cost-effective long-term electricity service, but this test will be done alone without subsidies to cover the costs. is needed.
The biggest concern is not the immediate results, but the purchase, service and replacement costs over the life of the equipment. This is not his test of ten years, but of eternity.
Bet
Out of respect and recognition for Native Americans, the City of Tucson has returned 10 acres of ancestral land to the Tohono Oodam Nation. It’s a really nice and delicate gesture. The 10 acre lot is very close to downtown. I sincerely hope that the casino of my ancestors never appears.
gas prices in arizona
Gas prices in Arizona have been at least $1 a gallon above the US national average since April 3rd. (Today, May 1st, it’s $4.75 versus the normal $3.55 per gallon.) That’s an extra $15 million to $20 million per day that Arizona people have to pay. did not. Meanwhile, the market price of crude oil remained essentially unchanged at $75-85/barrel (42 gallons/barrel).
Assuming the midpoint of the range, Arizona lost a total of $525 million to historically high gas prices. The news media did not explain the additional charges. The Governor has not hired any trains to carry about $3.50 a gallon of gasoline. who cares! life is beautiful.
suitable for age
Laws have been enacted that stipulate when individuals can drive, join the military, drink/buy alcohol, and vote. I don’t understand why some people think adolescents should be able to make decisions about their mental image (gender) and keep those thoughts out of their parents’ hands.
I don’t understand why young people are allowed access to the internet, social media and games (especially violent ones). A documentary titled “The Social Dilemma” clearly explains how social media targets all of us, including adolescents, to push products and dictate our thought processes. Providers of phones, tablets, and computers can easily build age-appropriate controls into their operating systems that are parentally enforced and backed by law regarding internet, gaming, and social media access.
Adolescents should not be allowed to make decisions about life-changing procedures for their bodies. should be able to determine the gender they want to be. This seems like common sense to me, but what do I know?
The worst time to be a Republican
By my estimation, this is the worst time ever for Republicans. Their 2024 presidential front-runner has been impeached twice, charged with hush money fraud, tried to steal votes in Georgia, stole classified documents from the White House, and incited riots. He is a former president who is indicted on charges of obstructing the president’s lawful transfer. He lost the election so he became president.
The second contender is Doro Wrestling and Loose with Mickey Mouse. Nationally, the party is on the other side of abortion rights, gay rights, book bans…and guns. Here in Arizona, Kari Lake and Mark Finchem are still in the news, and Cochise County Supervisors do not believe that a losing statewide election is legal.
What more can they do to put the former party to shame? Keep digging!
decency and the republican party
Has “decency” completely disappeared from the Republican spirit?
The word “obscene” is often used by Republicans to describe choices that differ from books, discussions of gender preferences, women’s claims to bodily autonomy, or far-right views.
As victims of another Texas shooting, Gov. Abbott hints that illegal immigrants don’t deserve our grief…”vulgarity” adequately describes Abbott and his ilk.
Proposals Essential for Business Growth and Stability 412
Uncertainty is bad for business. That’s why Tucson Electric Power plays a vital role in our community, providing safe, reliable power that’s critical to Tucson’s economy. That’s why all of the city’s leading business groups, from the Tucson Metro Chamber to the Southern Arizona Leadership Council to the Sun Corridor, supported Proposition 412.
This action will allow TEP to continue using public property to build and maintain facilities, ensuring that homes and businesses will continue to have the electricity they need. For about $1 a month, you’ll also earn extra income to fund projects that enhance reliable services and climate change efforts.
TEP has been serving Tucson for over a century. Vote YES on Prop. 412 to help Tucson continue to have the reliable energy it needs to support our growth and quality of life.
supreme court corruption
Trust is the thread that holds the fabric of the United States together.
The Supreme Court is presenting clear evidence that the threads of trust are too frayed and our country may be beyond repair…unless Justice Clarence Thomas is forced to resign soon.
The collapse of the government’s judiciary began when Mitch McConnell blocked the appointment of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court and blocked Senate approval of dozens of Barack Obama appointments to federal judges. Subsequently, the unqualified Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh were sentenced to life in prison by the Supreme Court. McConnell’s misconduct has so distorted the federal court system that trust in it has become impossible.
Clarence Thomas is unlikely to resign or Congress to impeach him. Allowing Thomas’ corruption as a Supreme Court justice to continue will accelerate the demise of the United States.
CCE (yes!) vs municipal power (guess)
Re: April 30 article “Tucson Considers Establishing Municipal Power Company; TEP Opposes”
As an energy policy researcher, I would like to thank Tony Davis for writing an article contrasting CCE with municipal power. For those keeping score: If approved, CCE will clean the grid faster and cheaper, limited only by the legislative cycle. That means it’s a relationship with TEP that will be able to vote on this option sooner than the 10 years it could take for a local government to file a lawsuit. As we wait for CCE to be legalized here in Arizona, we appreciate the city doing the due diligence and applaud them for considering the second best option in the meantime. .
The momentum and impact generated by this Energy Sources Study could be a great vehicle for achieving the ultimate goal of providing 100% renewable energy for everyone in Tucson. It is clear from the Climate Action Plan that CCE is the way to achieve this. Let’s explore all our power until it is approved at the state level.
Great County Fair
i love fairs Before COVID, the fair was worse with sparse exhibits in Pima County. And COVID.
I went to the fair again this year, and there were many exhibits. they were really good. The animal exhibits were great. The show was great and so were the vendors. The rodeo was a lot of fun and there were a lot of good competitors. Kudos to all staff and volunteers.
My son took me home and was going to go back to the concert that night, but traffic was jammed for miles with people heading to the fairgrounds, so he changed his mind. What a joy to have public entertainment that most people can afford instead of paying $100 for a ticket. well done. I’m looking forward to next year. Thank you to everyone who organized such a good event.
Patriots do not threaten our country!
Re: May 3 article “Local Opinion: First 100 Days”.
Congressman Juan Ciscomani’s article touting his achievements mentions one very important fact.
This is the political party that plotted to deny the validity of the 2020 presidential election, deny the transfer of constitutional power to a duly elected president, and urged supporters to overthrow the government. Now, like spoiled brats, they hold the future of the country hostage in a sullen attempt to overturn laws that provide citizens with much-needed assistance to our economy, veterans, and retirees. I’m taking
Need a balanced budget? Just like he paid 3 times for Trump’s tax cuts, raise the debt limit and help the IRS to get more income from the most able to pay!
Pima Community College
As a senior and student attending PCC for the past 6 years, I can only praise this institution and the opportunities it offers. I am honored to be one of those dedicated students who has successfully met the requirements of the class while overcoming life’s obstacles.
As a senior, auditing the class allows me to consider the discrepancies in my aging brain while continuing to challenge myself and keep participating in the class. It seems to spread out and will support you when obstacles occur.
Pima is a place of hope, and the acquisition of knowledge, whether directed towards specific work or basic general research, enables a more fulfilling and prosperous future.
Pima Community College is a gem of our community and a great opportunity for seniors to expand their minds and interact with fellow citizens of Tucson.
name of the day
What you’re naming your kids today (Snowdrop, Panda, Vin’nyla, X32) comprises a daunting list. I’m in my 40s and my birth certificate says “Thaddeus”. I asked my parents and they told me that when I went to register my name was Thad and they told me that it was not my legal name and that I had to be called “Thaddeus”. Times have changed. or maybe not. Those days may come back, with religion driving our laws.
Tucson treasure
Tucson is the site of many natural wonders, but there is one man-made wonder that I must admire. Veterans Hospital, Rehabilitation and Care Facility in Ajoway. My husband is in an extended stay due to a serious medical condition. The staff are definitely nice and caring. I can’t praise them enough.
There are many other patients who need attention, but all his needs are being addressed in a timely manner. I can only speak for the two of us and him, but I am so grateful for the professionalism, expertise and friendliness of the VA hospital staff and administrators. We are lucky to have such an institution in our city.
