Mojave County – Mojave Community College and ARIZONA@WORK have partnered to enhance workforce training and provide tuition compensation for unemployed and underemployed residents throughout the region.
It is part of a federal program called Quality, Employment, Equity, Strategy and Training (QUEST) Disaster Recovery Discrete Workers Grants (DWG), commonly referred to as QUEST grants. MCC is the financial coordinating agent for grants in Mojave and La Paz counties. ARIZONA@WORK offers career counselors and support services to assist qualified participants.

Qualified individuals receive tuition to cover one of MCC’s more than a dozen short-term worker education training programs. The program is recognized throughout the region as providing students with the skills they need to land the most-needed jobs. They include:
Certified Nursing Assistant
phlebotomist
medical assistant
dental assistant
Home medical assistance/living caregiver
community health worker
Basics of manufacturing
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration HVAC/R Residential or Commercial Technicians
electrician
carpenter
Welder
In addition to the educational courses listed above, MCC also has the ability to work with employers and ARIZONA@WORK to provide specialized training in healthcare, manufacturing and construction areas eligible for QUEST grants.
ARIZONA@WORK has a dedicated career coach to assist residents, determine eligibility for grants, and enroll in college courses.

To be eligible for services under the Quest DWG, an individual must meet one of the following criteria:
- Temporarily or permanently dismissed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic or had to leave work for pandemic-related reasons. (This includes people who lost their jobs due to the effects of the new coronavirus infection and did not go to work to care for family members. )
retired workers,
long-term unemployed, or
Self-employed people who are unemployed or significantly underemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
