Mojave County – Adam Romano has been described by his colleagues as tenacious, inquisitive, insightful and many other great things. Romano won the 2023 Kathy Hodel Best Student Award.
In addition to this year’s honoree, Romano will also receive $10,000 in cash to spend on anything she wants.
“It’s absolutely amazing to be named the 2023 Kathy Hodel winner. My supportive wife said she knew I was going to win, but she had her doubts.” said Romano. “I was stunned when I found out I had won, but when I regained her composure, I was humbled, honored and very happy.”
Romano said MCC’s student body contributes to the community in such diverse and diverse ways that so many deserving students attending MCC this year could win the award. .
He will use the funds to continue his education and help his growing family build a solid foundation. Winning this award also fueled his passion for teaching and service.
Kathy Hodel is known for her community service, which is one of the criteria students applying for the award must meet. Romano spent countless hours in community service while attending her MCC and is often referred to as a great community leader.

Romano graduates from MCC with art associate artist. He attended the University’s Lake Havasu City campus and is currently attending Arizona State University for a BA in Museum Studies.
