Each year, McGee Farm in Florence draws in thousands of visitors eager to embrace the spirit of autumn at its pumpkin patch. This year, from September 27 to October 31, the farm opens its doors daily for seasonal festivities and activities.
Celebrating its 30th season, McGee Farm invites families to explore its offerings. Guests can choose pumpkins directly from the patch or select from a variety of pre-picked options. There are over 25 types available, all in different sizes.
For a bit of adventure, visitors can hop on a tractor-drawn wagon or take a short, nature-filled walk to reach the pumpkin patch. Beyond just pumpkins, the farm has plenty of activities, including hayrides, barn bouncing, and opportunities to meet goats and chickens.
If guests are looking for ways to bring a piece of autumn home, they can also pick up seasonal decorations. McGee Farm prides itself on being the largest local grower of colorful mums, offering thousands of pots in various hues each year.
After selecting pumpkins, guests are encouraged to visit the McGee Farm Kitchen, which serves up homemade favorites like white beans, cornbread, soup, muffins, and delicious desserts. The kitchen features a large porch and picnic area, perfect for enjoying the beautiful countryside.
Admission to the farm is free, but enjoying the pumpkin patch costs $3.25 per person, starting from age two. Wagon rides are an extra $3, and access to jump pillows costs $3.25 as well. The pricing is family-friendly, with pumpkins starting at $4 and larger ones priced at 45 cents per pound.
