PEORIA, Ariz. – The suspect is in custody following a barricade situation reported in a West Valley community on Tuesday.
Several officials from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded as the first shot was fired into a residential area near Peoria in the Happy Valley and Dissert road area.
Upon arrival, the suspect spoke to deputies before closing their doors. The SWAT team was dispatched to support.
An MCSO official tried to negotiate with the suspect over the phone.
McSO is said to have said that the shot was later fired through a window on the second floor, and the suspect allegedly refused the exit to the residence. The suspects ended and the K-9 was deployed.
The MCSO said the suspect was in custody and was taken to hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries have been reported.
The footage of the Sky12 shows several nearby MCSO vehicles, including what appears to be armored vehicles.
