Medical Examiner Confirms Cause Of Death Of Friend Who Died In Comedian’s Home

Medical inspectors confirmed that comedian Paul Rodriguez’s friend Donald Cerrato had died of a fentanyl overdose inside the star’s house.

Examiners said Serrat died from the combined effects of fentanyl, PCP and methamphetamine. Report It was published by TMZ on Thursday. The previously reported outlet was found to have Serrato stayed at the comedian’s house for several days before he died in November. Rodriguez said he left home to work on a set in Hollywood and called Cerato around noon to see if he wanted to grab lunch. He became worried when his friend failed to respond.

TMZ reports that Rodriguez will call his girlfriend and go and check out Cerato when he can’t reach him. She attended the residence and found him dead inside.

This is not the first time a popular comedian has linked to fentanyl.

He is currently fighting the Burbank Police Department over his recent arrest on suspicion of drug possession.

He was previously arrested as part of a traffic stop that included a car driven by a female friend. Police allegedly found drugs in the woman’s wallet after searching the car. A law enforcement source told TMZ that the officers discovered the suspected fentanyl and are currently running tests to confirm the substance.

Rodriguez maintained his innocence and denied possession of illegal substances at the time of his arrest. (Related: Comedian Ken Flores dies suddenly at age 28)

No further information is provided surrounding the person who supplied fentanyl to Serrat at the time of his death.
