I have always been proud of the leadership South Carolina senators have shown in Washington on issues that matter to voters. Through my work as a national committee member, I got to know these gentlemen and had the opportunity to see their work firsthand.
That is why Senators Tim Scott and Lindsay Graham have led the issues surrounding senior health care and promoted policies that provide affordable and accessible options for the senior community. Last month, Scott emerged as the lead signatory to a bipartisan Senate letter calling on the Biden administration to continue supporting Medicare Advantage. Graham also endorsed and signed this same letter. This is exactly the kind of leadership that senators should look out for.
Medicare Advantage is an increasingly popular program for seniors that provides low-cost, tailored health insurance to seniors. Nationwide, he has more than 30 million Americans choosing to enroll in Medicare Advantage plans, including: 450,000 or more South Carolinian. The program allows seniors to enjoy a range of benefits, including out-of-pocket limits and extended coverage for home care, all in one plan for her.
In my travels through the state, I have had the opportunity to meet many state seniors who are enjoying the benefits of Medicare Advantage. When asked about the best part of their coverage, many mention how affordable their plans are. This is especially important as our country is battling high inflation. Our senior community and other retirees need affordable options to keep more money in their pockets as costs continue to rise. And thanks to Medicare Advantage It’s great to hear from seniors across the state who have saved hundreds of dollars in health care costs annually.
Building bridges to new voters has been part of my platform as a National Commissioner from the beginning. We are proud to serve millions of low-income, underserved subscribers, including nearly four million Americans in rural areas. Access to health care should not be defined by where you live, your income, or who you are. Seniors with Medicare Advantage work hard to get these benefits. I’ve been working
Unfortunately, the Biden administration billions of dollars saved $ of funding from Medicare Advantage this year. These cuts will hit seniors in South Carolina hard, making health care more difficult to access.
Our elected leaders must focus on ways to limit the burden of rising costs on their constituents. Medicare Advantage is a great policy to make health care affordable for seniors and taxpayers. Now is not the time to take resources away from important programs like Medicare Advantage. Thank you Scott and Graham, along with many friends and neighbors, for fighting for Medicare Advantage and protecting America’s elderly.
