When you think of Pat Riley, the first thing that comes to mind is the Miami Heat. 3 NBA Championships And the legendary aura surrounding them. And because of this, the legend will be honored by the franchise in the grandest way imaginable and will forever enshrine him in team history. In an announcement Monday, the Heat announced that the court at Caseya Center will be named after Riley, the former head coach and current president, and will be dedicated to the court. No matter who sponsors Miami’s arena, the court will forever be named after Riley. The official unveiling of the Pat Riley Court at Caseya Center will take place on October 23rd, when the Heat take on the Orlando Magic.
Miami also paid tribute to Riley at the perfect time, as this will be his 30th season with the franchise. The Heat won their first championship in 2006 with Riley leading the way as skipper, then won several more titles in 2012 and 2013 while holding the keys to the front office. And as for his last two rings, this one was made after he built the iconic “Big Three” of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh.
