Miami Mother Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Hire A Hitman To Kill Her Toddler

Miami police arrested a mother Tuesday on suspicion of using a parody site to hire a hitman to murder her 3-year-old son.

Jazmin Paez, 18, was arrested on charges of soliciting murder and illegally using telecommunications equipment within a week of hiring a hitman from the parody website rentahitman.com to kill an infant. according to Arrest warrant obtained by NBC6. Website owner Robert Innes reportedly flagged Paez’s allegations and made multiple calls to the Miami-Dade Police Department to report the situation.

Miami-Dade kept referring to the call to the Crimestoppers, Innes told NBC6. At the time, Crimestoppers reportedly said it would send Innes a letter of suspension. “They weren’t interested. They emailed me and said if they contacted me again they would send me a letter of suspension,” Innes told the magazine.

Innes said the site receives hundreds of similar offers every day, most of which are fake. According to NBC6, it was the idiosyncrasies of Paez’s alleged demands that raised Innes’ alarm bells. His mother reportedly sent the child’s exact location and photos.

Paes is said to have told an undercover agent disguised as a hitman that he would pay $3,000 to kill his son. according to New York Post. (Related: Jury finds mother guilty of starving son to death)

Police then arrested Paes. She said her bail was set at $15,000 and she was ordered to stay away from her son, NBC6 reported. Her son now lives safely with a large family. Paez is being held at Miami-Dade Prison, according to the New York Post.
