Flagstaff Appoints New Planning and Development Services Director
The City of Flagstaff has appointed Michelle McNulty as the Director of Planning and Development Services. Her role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including planning, building services, and real estate. With nearly two decades of experience in both public and private sectors, she brings a wealth of knowledge in transportation planning, land use, and community development.
“I am honored to step into my role as Director of Planning and Development Services and continue to serve the communities and teams I have a deep interest in,” McNulty expressed in a recent press release. “I think we have a great opportunity to build on our strong foundations and support compassionate growth for a vibrant future in our community.”
Before this appointment, McNulty served as the planning director in 2022 and has acted as the interim community development director since March. Prior to her time in Flagstaff, she worked as the planning director for the Anchorage Municipality in Alaska. McNulty holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in rural geography from Northern Arizona University.
