Midnight at the Oasis concludes its weekend of fun

YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – Sunday was the third and final day of Midnight at the Oasis. Unlike Friday and Saturday, there were no bands performing at the event.

But those who attended the event at Desert Sun Stadium came to see the vehicle from the past.

Not only that, the event’s sponsors came together to host the Sunday Awards Brunch at the Yuma Civic Center.

During that time, participants found out whose car took top honors, and sponsors thanked participants.

“We cannot do this alone, nor can any of us do it. We drive from around the block, sometimes from all over the country, and sometimes from another place, another country,” said Dr. Bob Brown, also known as Captain Midnight.

Along with Miss Yuma County winner Olivia Taylor, she and Brown called Carrie Underhill, the lucky winner of the 1966 Ford Mustang Raffle.

After Taylor and Brown named the runners-up for the $500 prize, they announced next year’s raffle vehicle, the 1977 Stingray Corvette.

The best part is that you can have your name on your Corvette from now until the 31st Midnight at the Oasis.
