On Saturday, an immigrant staying at a New York City shelter stabbed another resident to death during an argument over a woman, according to the New York Daily News.
The NYPD responded to a 911 call about an assault, the department told the Daily Caller News Foundation. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old man with stab wounds to his torso, but he was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“The fight took place next to the dining room, and they were fighting over a woman. The Venezuelan took the woman away from the Peruvian,” said José David, a Venezuelan who witnessed the encounter. according to On the Daily News.
“A Venezuelan and a Peruvian were fighting next to a cafeteria, and the Peruvian stabbed the Venezuelan boy twice,” David added.
