Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saxon District) on Thursday blasted the United Auto Workers (UAW) leadership for siding with the agitators currently stirring up trouble on college campuses.
UAW President Sean Fain statement He criticized the police and some university leadership for “mass arrests” of anti-Israel demonstrators.
The UAW will never support mass arrests or intimidation of people who protest, strike or exercise their right to speak out against injustice.

“The UAW will never support the mass arrests and intimidation of people exercising their right to protest, strike and speak out against injustice. Our union has been calling for a ceasefire for six months,” Fain said. “This war is wrong, and this treatment of students and university employees, many of whom are UAW members, is wrong. We call on the powers that be to release the students and employees who have been arrested, and if you cannot stand the voices of protest, then end your support of this war.”

Fain's statement came in response to police clearing up illegal encampments at Columbia University and UCLA.
Rogers, who has been a strong critic of the UAW's efforts to unionize the Mercedes plant in the Yellow Hammer State, fired back at Fain's comments.
“The UAW supports the crazed pro-Hamas mobs wreaking havoc on college campuses,” Rogers said. “Make no mistake: these two groups are both mouthpieces for the radical left, and neither are welcome in Alabama.”
The UAW stands alongside the crazed pro-Hamas mobs wreaking havoc on college campuses. To be clear, these two groups are both mouthpieces for the radical left, and neither is welcome in Alabama. https://t.co/CTy62mLhU9
