Exhibits from the Mojave Military Museum are on display at the Lake Havasu City Courthouse. The new display was installed in the front lobby of the courthouse last week.
The Mojave Military Museum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating exhibits using authentic artifacts, debuted in Havasu in 2022.
Since then, several traveling exhibits have been set up around the city and featured in places like ASU Havasu, Mojave Community College and City Hall.
The courthouse now features a more permanent exhibit with items donated by Mohave County residents, businesses, veterans and their families.
Titled “Through Dangerous Battles,” the exhibit features authentic U.S. military items, photos, documents, and books from World War I to the Gulf War.
Court Commissioner Coleen Rowley said she hopes to work with the museum on exhibits when the courthouse opens.
“When we first opened, we knew we wanted to partner with a museum, so when we first walked into the courthouse, it was appealing to us,” Lowery said. “The veteran community has always been strong in Lake Havasu City, so we wanted to honor our veterans.”
She added that the court has a successful Veterans Treatment Court, which is another reason the exhibit is special.
Exhibits rotate quarterly with new items on display.
“It's exciting and it's beautiful,” Lowry said. “We have the ability and space to put other things in there, so I’m excited to see what they do with it.”
Those interested in viewing the exhibits can visit the courthouse, located at 92 S. Acoma Blvd.
