Millie Bobby Brown said during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show'' on Thursday that she channeled her inner Tom Cruise in her recent project “Damsel.''
Brown, known for his role on “Stranger Things,” has branched out into action territory with his latest project, “Damsel,” now streaming on Netflix. The actress said she performed all the stunts in this fantasy action movie.
“I feel like a female Tom Cruise,'' Brown says. Said Drew Barrymore. “I did all the stunts myself from start to finish.”
Brown expressed fear about being involved in stunt work. “It's like, 'Are you really going to do it? Are you really going to do that stunt?' Despite admitting her anxiety and lack of physical training to accomplish such a feat, she took the challenge head on. “I'm really scared to do my own stunts. Stunts are scary and you're like, 'I'm not physically trained to do this,'” Brown added.
Beyond his stunt work, Brown took the opportunity to praise his co-stars during his appearance on the show. She praised Angela Bassett's formidable presence as well as her skilled acting skills. “A great presence,” she said of Bassett. “But when I watch her and see how she works, I'm like, 'Wow, you're always so nice.'”
“Damsel” tells the story of Princess Elodie, played by Brown, who learns of her husband's family's plan to sacrifice her to a dragon to settle an ancient debt. according to to the Hollywood Reporter. The film features an impressive cast including Angela Bassett and Robin Wright. The film was released on Netflix on Friday.
