Milroe to attend prestigious Manning Passing Academy

University of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe will spend the last week of June as a counselor at one of the most prestigious football camps in the country.

Founded and run by former NFL quarterback Archie Manning with the help of his sons Peyton, Eli and Cooper, the Manning Passing Academy is a four-day clinic held on the campus of Nicholls State University. From June 27-30, 46 college quarterbacks from around the country will serve as camp counselors for more than 1,000 high school students.

“For more than 50 years, the Manning family and the quarterback position have been virtually synonymous,” the MPA website states, “so their summer vacations revolve around the annual Manning Passing Academy, a family-run football camp that teaches the fundamentals of the game and caters to all offensive skill positions: RB, TE, WR and, of course, QB.”

“The Manning family is always the first to arrive and the last to leave,” the site continues. “The concept for the camp was born out of a concern that young people during their developmental years (grades 8-12) are lacking even the most basic fundamental skills of throwing and catching a football.”

“Whether you're a QB, RB, WR or TE, the Manning Passing Academy will help you understand the fundamentals of your position and basic offensive and defensive strategies.”

Milroe will be the first quarterback from Alabama to participate in the event since UA's Bryce Young in 2022.

In addition to Milroe, 10 other SEC quarterbacks have been invited to Thibodaux, Louisiana: Quinn Ewers (Texas), Carson Beck (Georgia), Jackson Dart (Mississippi State), Jackson Arnold (Oklahoma), Drew Pyne (Missouri), Brady Cook (Missouri), Blake Shapen (Mississippi State), Graham Mertz (Florida) and Garrett Nussmeyer (Louisiana State). Arch Manning, a rising redshirt freshman from Texas and Cooper's son, will also serve as a counselor.
