People need to let go of the glory days of the Boston Celtics…this is not the same Doc Rivers.
Just hours after the Milwaukee Bucks fired head coach Adrian Griffin, the team reportedly found a new captain, and it made headlines: the legendary Doc Rivers.
The news was broken Tuesday night on Adam Lefkow's “Inside the NBA,” which cited CNN Sports as the source. (Related: Cavaliers' Tristan Thompson suspended 25 games after testing positive for steroids, league announced)
Mr. Rivers is a coach in the NBA. 24 years, has gigs with the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Orlando Magic. During his career, he racked up an astonishing 1,097 wins, which ranks him ninth all-time in NBA history. In his postseason he is 111-104.
In 2008, Rivers won the NBA championship as head coach of the Boston Celtics.
The Milwaukee Bucks have not confirmed the CNN Sports report.

Here's my reaction when this news broke:
Doc Rivers has been named head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks.
My take: Looks good on paper, but very reminiscent of the Philadelphia 76ers situation. Considering how big Giannis' ego is, would he really get along with a player like Doc Rivers?
Potential bust alert.

This also includes flashes of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Similar to Philadelphia, the Docs will dominate the Bucks throughout the regular season, placing them in the Eastern Conference's No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, but then making the playoffs and winning in the first round. fashion), and was eliminated in the semifinals. I see the same thing happening.
And seriously, do you think Giannis' ego mixes well with Doc's?
Incompetence… I think that's what it all boils down to 🤔
