Homeland Security Criticizes Kim Kardashian’s Immigration Views
Tricia McLaughlin from Homeland Security expressed strong disapproval of Kim Kardashian’s involvement in the immigration debate, claiming that celebrities are siding with those who commit violent crimes.
McLaughlin accused the Kardashian family of being “misinformed and detached” from what’s genuinely happening in Los Angeles. Recently, they’ve shown support for individuals seeking to be freed from incarceration. McLaughlin stated, “These are violent criminals whose presence has been removed from the streets of Los Angeles under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem. They include murderers, rapists, gang members, and child offenders.”
She further questioned Kardashian’s motives, asking, “Why is Ms. Kardashian advocating for criminals at the expense of innocent Americans and brave law enforcement?” McLaughlin noted that Kardashian’s team has downplayed the risks associated with the criminals in question, referencing her comments on prison reform made earlier in June.
McLaughlin’s remarks follow Kardashian’s criticism of the mass deportations that occurred during Trump’s administration, voiced during an event in Venice, Italy. Kardashian expressed a belief in the need for a balance between protection and supporting the country, indicating, “It’s really hard, but I think we have to do what we can to truly support our country and protect the people who have built it up.”
In response to Kardashian’s comments, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson emphasized, “President Trump is fulfilling his promise to Americans to make the country safer from criminally illegal foreigners, regardless of what Hollywood celebrities have to say about it.”
